About

I am a Doctoral Researcher atNottingham Trent Universitywith theFashion and Textile Research Centre. I am exploring ways Arts-Based Research can facilitate the exchange of knowledge and values, especially creating conditions for different ways of knowing about fashion-nature partnerships to come into play. I provide research consultancy on project around Fashion and Sustainability. Previously, I worked as a full-time lecturer at theIndian Institute of Art and Design, where my research focussed on Education for Sustainable Development at HEI. My MA thesis titled ‘ Cultural and Creative Identities of Artisans: Impact of Design Education’ encouraged me to delve deeper into how definitions of creativity in the canons of design scholarship do not encapsulate non-eurocentric views, disregarding communal creativity. In 2019, I obtained my MA in Fashion Futures from theUniversity of the Arts London, critiquing the nature and purpose of fashion and design through a systems thinking approach; and my BA in Fashion Design in 2018 from theNational Institute of Fashion Technology.
